Most meetings are usually informative and its members also offer suggestions and ideas to others who may belong to a particular community such as hubpages. However do not expect everything to always go smoothly at meetings.
Most meetings are usually informative and its members also offer suggestions and ideas to others who may belong to a particular community such as hubpages. However do not expect everything to always go smoothly at meetings.

Not intending in any way wanting to take away the thunder from our hubmeet leader Glenn Stok, but over the past couple of days I've been reminiscing about the last and first hubpages meeting that I had the pleasure of attending on Saturday, August 13th. That community meetup was held here on Long Island, N.Y. And believe me the 100 mile trip to and from this gathering of other hubbers across the expanse of the island, was every bit worth it. There was an endless amount of information being tossed around over iced coffee and vegan wraps. Everyone seemed so wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, that its no wonder that the food and drink of mention, wasn't flung across the gathering table at each other, out of sheer excitement, but by accident of course.

The information put forth at that meeting, was nothing less than the best; about Hubpages that no hubber participating here on the hubpages community should be without. Our hubmeeting leader, Glenn Stok discussed a number of topics that were new to me. Glenn did a great job of rehashing information from a prior first hubpage meetup to help newbies and the pros alike overcome certain topics of concern. One that comes to mind was the recent Panda goodle issue, which had effected everyones views in some way or another on hubpages.

Other new members beside myself, like powerjeff listened with intent ear about all this useful information that could only make us all better hubbers and to add, more efficient writers overall. Glenn is a wealth of information and I recommend that other writers contact him via hubpages for questions about any hubpage related issue. Its like having the FAQ's and Learning Center sections of hubpages right at your fingertips. Glenn also has a fairly new hub article that you can find on his hubpage, it's one of his latest hubpage articles and has a wealth of information contained within. I don't think there is anything that this guy doesn't know. Glenn has even published a book on a site called Lulu-it's all about relationships. Hey now, that's probably an area that many of us could benefit from today, including myself. If you would like to purchase a copy of this book, it is available in hardcopy at Amazon. In addition a digital copy can be downloaded into an e-reader programs such as Kindle.

I have my pen and pencil out right now and am jotting down a few other items that we can discuss at this upcoming hubmeeting. That meeting is only a few short days away, on Saturday September 17th and I can feel that sudden rush of adrenalin as I count down the hours. These are meetings that shouldn't be placed on the back burner. Whatever state you reside in now, try to find and nominate a leader for your group and get started. There are several other successful hubpage meeting all ready going on across the country, just like the one here on Long Island. I know Glenn is already getting geared up and in preparation of this upcoming gathering. Hopefully we will see those other repeat and previous hubbers, like myself that will be on site to interact and provide their individual feedback as well.

From what I can gather so far from scanning the various forum posts here on hubpages, there appears to really be an issue and a good many posts to add; that have to do with traffic views falling on a continual basis. So this is definitely a main topic of concern to all, that will most likely start our discussion. In other words what other constructive feedback can help many hubbers regain the fallen traffic; that has been affecting several of their articles for the past several weeks. This is one example of an issue; which will result, in lowering of an individual's article score and other similar and maddening things.

Is backlinking really the best solution to picking up loss ground? And can displaying some of our other writing, on other websites such as info barrel, squidoo and Redgage for example really get the ball rolling once again. Maybe yes, maybe no, but I am sure that these are only a few of the topics that Glenn will want to address to us as a group. Not only to help out the Long Island group, but others across the country.

Other comments and suggestions are welcome, so please leave them in the comments section of this article. But try to do so before this Saturday-September 17th.. The clock is a ticking and the feedback received here, will only help make this a better, if not the best hubmeet of all of them yet! So stay-tuned and keep a watch out for the hubpage meetups forum post. I know without a doubt, that Glenn Stok, will have a wealth of new information over the following week, that will only benefit all of us here within this great community of writers.

Joe - I appreciate your Hub on our local HubMeets. You really gave it a very positive acclaim. I have to add that the greatness of our meetings is the result of everyone who has been attending. I'm just organizing it.

We have many new items on the list to discuss at the next meeting since so much has been happening with HubPages as is evidenced in the Forums. Thanks for writing about it. Well done!

Glenn:

As always thanks for your positive and insightful feedback in reference to our prior hubpage meetups. They are definitely nothing less than a positive experience for everyone who attends. And of course wouldn't be what they are without a knowledgeable leader like yourself. See you on Saturday-with pen and notebook in hand and of course laptop! take care.
