Aero Shot-An Inhalable Energy Booster

Aero Shot is like instant energy in mini canister. If you're not near a starbuck or dunkin donuts and need a quick burst of energy. Than all you have to do is give yourself and inhalable shot of this new product and you're good for another 8 hours.

Our neighborhoods are saturated with Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks and multiple Seven-Eleven stores. All conveniently located in our surrounding neighborhoods, where we can stop in and grab a cup of our favorite brew. It seems like our lives revolve on caffeine, just as the earth and other planets revolve about the sun.

But recently a new way of getting our caffeine has entered the market and has even made it easier to get our daily fix. It is not the popular Keurig coffee machine either. In fact that is considered a dinosaur next to this mini-inhalable device called Aero Shot. It looks somewhat like a shotgun shell and according to some, is supposed to give you quite a jolt after you inhale the combination of B-vitamins and other ingredients contained within. Whatever happened to the old 12 oz. cup of coffee? It now looks like it can be called-"Coffee in a canister."

Aero Shot makes the conventional cup of coffee look obsolete and thanks to its founder Dave Edwards, a Harvard University professor, Aero Shot will make it easier for those on the go, to get their daily doses of caffeine without stopping to starbucks. A few people have suggested that Dave Edwards Aero Shot's founder, invented the product strictly for students enrolled in his classes. The purpose being so they would keep awake during his class lectures. Who knows maybe this was the intended purpose, but regardless of its original purpose, it will definitely help you to stay awake on the job.

Supposedly this caffeinated product in a canister, will deliver 100 mg. of caffeine, enough to keep even the sleepiest among us awake. For those of you who are wondering what 100 mg. of caffeine is equivalent to in terms of coffee. This would equate to the amount of caffeine found in one large, or 20 oz. cup of non-caffeinated coffee.

The Aero Shot canister contains four to six individualized and calibrated puffs of caffeine. A majority of individuals find that they get the full effect from this product, if they inhale all five to six individualized doses at once. Rather than inhale two or three separate puffs every couple of hours apart. Using one whole cannister of Aero Shot at one time will give you quite a lift without having to use an elevator. Also you will not experience the jitters after ingesting the product, as is sometimes the case after consuming caffienated products. In fact the effect from Aero Shot will last for approximately three full hours, before you have to go back for another puff or two.

The powder base within Aero Shot, contains a flavor comparable in taste to lime. After ingesting the product, the flavor does a pretty good job of concealing the overall taste of the caffeine. However you still will experience a slight bitterness at the back of the palate. Something that most coffees leave in the consumers mouths, after they drink coffee based beverages. Aero shot is also sweetened with a sugar substitute called Stevia and as briefly mentioned contains an adequate amount of the B vitamins.

Aero shot can be purchased online for about $2.99 per unit and for U.S. customers shipping is included in the price. A free sample can also be obtained at the following site as well http://www.aeroshots.com/. Aero shot usually comes in a pouch or box of three samples, each containing five to six breathable puffs of pure caffeinated energy. Aero Shot complies with all of the Food and Drug Administration's guidelines. In addition it is marketed only to adults and not intended for children to use.

Recently there have also been some concerns that this product could be used as a party drug. After all the caffeine contained within this product is caffeine and caffeine is a drug just like the nicotine contained within tobacco products is a drug. It seems as though a majority of young adults are trying to impress their classmates, or basically attempting to get what they call a good buzz for themselves these days.

This is where the potential problem could lie. When young adults get together and start to party, most of us know that all hell can and will break lose. After all most of us may have been in that situation at least one time in our lives when we were in high school or college. Aero shot still carries with it the potential to be abused, especially if it is taken with more well-known party drugs, such as ectasy or other similar drugs.

The combination of Aero Shot and another type of prescription drug for example, if it gets into the wrong hands could be a real problem. The possiblility always exists that a fatal heart arrhythymia could develp when multiple drugs that stimulate the nervous system are taken simultaneously. So some of you parents out there just be aware of this fact, so you can keep your kids safe and aware that this product is available and currently on the market.

Like any drugs, particularly prescription drug products, their intended use is to remedy conditions associated with various disease states and conditions. And not to be taken at random, when you feel like taking them. That is why your doctor has instructed you on how to take medications you need for the aches and pains you experience from arthritis or migraine headaches for example.

Aero shot even thought it does not fit into this category does have the potential for abuse; if used just to get a quick high on. These effects are all the more enhanced if this product is taken with alcohol for example. Remember that even though Aero Shot delivers only 100 mg. of caffeine to the body in an inhalable powder form. It is also a considered a drug and as mentioned drugs if not taken as prescribed and in the wrong combination; may leave an individual in a compromised situation.

Aero shot will also achieve its intended goal of giving you that pick-me up feeling in ten minutes time tops. So keep that in mind when inhaling your next cup of coffee. I don't know about the other reader's in my audience who are either reading, or who have read this article already. But personally speaking, I still prefer my large cup of iced coffee at starbucks; rather than inhalable coffee in a canister, to get my desired dose of stimulation for the day. I am not going to give up my coffee pot and Keurig machine just yet. Have a coffeelicious day!

Interesting hub! I won't give up my coffee, just simply because of the taste of it. Even my coffee doesn't give me much energy, so I'm interested in trying this for those 2:30 slumps at work. Does it really work? You've tried it? Do you think it's safe? And is it only available online? Lots of questions, sorry, but I'm curious and very interested. Thanks for the info!

In your article you explain that Aero Shot "delivers 100 mgm of caffeine." Is this in one spray of the product or by using the entire canister at once?

Hi Victoria:

Questions are good and that's how you learn. From the research I've done on this product, it is proven to be safe. It does have the FDA's endorsement, which doesn't always mean everything. But if it did not have their seal of approval, then I would be very skeptical in trying it. Which leads me to answer another question you had. No I have not tried the product yet, because it just came out on the market on the 20th of this month, I believe. Also I would be willing to give it a try when I purchase a sample online. And right now, I honestly cannot tell you who would have this product other than the online site, which I supplied the link to. From what I have read so far, it apparently does really give you a pure shot of energy for three straight hours. It is very comparable to the energy drink Red Bull. If you know what that is? Somewhat like a hyped up energy drink that you can purchase at a Gym for example. Also Aero shot is like a triple cappucino you could say-with that little extra cappucino kick in it. If I find out more in reference to where yo can purchase this product other than online, I will make sure to shoot you over an email. Thanks for your comments in reference to this article and glad you found it interesting as well. Merry christmas to you.

Hello L.L. I recently answered your question in a separate comment capsule. However I do not see that comment I just submitted. To answer your prior question. The 100 mg. of caffeine is delivered from the one puff, equivalent to one large cup of caffeinated coffee, and not from the whole canister, which on average contains five total puffs. Hope this helps and hope you enjoyed the read, as well and found it useful in some way.

Is this related to the aeropress espresso maker?

Hello Pierre:

To answer your question about aeroshot-it does not have anything to do with the aeroexpress coffee maker, which I haven't even heard about. Aero Shot is more like a stimulant, non prescription drug, which is available online and in some stores. It is an inhalable compound, which gives you three metered puffs, or doses of caffeine. So if you don't have time to drink, say a cup of coffee in the morning. It will give you the equivalent amount of caffeine that a large expresso, and/or large cup of coffee has in it. Very new to the market this product. Personally I haven't tried the product yet, but have researched it. Hope this helps clarify your answer. Take care.

Literally inhaling caffeine? That's the most bizarre idea I've ever heard.

Yes you read the article correctly by judging by your comment. And what will they think of next? I think that people who invent these kinds of products are getting bored with their lives. I still prefer the old fashioned way of drinking my coffee-by way of a 16oz. cup. Thanks for your feedback.

FDA did NOT approve. They are looking into it. This is a man making a quick buck off of kids with no concern of their health risks!! Disgusting to bring this to market for KIDS!!!

Hi Mike:

And thank you for your feedback in reference to my Aeroshot article. Yes I do believe that it is another scheme targeted by those looking to make money off of youngsters who are unaware of the potential side-effects that may come with it. Basically I think the person or persons trying to market it are thinking that it will go over like one of those drugs that are occasionally used at night clubs-Ectasy for example which I assume is much worse, but until the FDA looks into this further and approves it, everyone and anyone who has any brains should stay away from it until the FDA places its brand of approval upon it. In fact I heard on the radio earlier today that a state senator was looking into this and demanded that the FDA handle this matter. And like I also mentioned in the article, nothing like an old fashioned cup of java. Thanks again for checking in and also appreciate your valuable feedback. Take care.

One more time for a fact check. Aeroshot's web site clearly states that the entire canister is a 100 mg dose of caffeine, not 100 mg per puff.

Jlbowden profile image

Jlbowden Hub Author 3 months ago

Hello Vince:

Let's clarify any misunderstandings as far as what aeroshot delivers in terms of caffeine delivery. It does in fact contain 100mg. of caffeine in one canister. There are approximately four puffs in each cannister which include about 25mg. of caffeine. So as just stated aeroshot delivers 25mg. of caffeine per puff and not a 100mg. dose of caffeine. It does contain however 100 mg. within one cannister. So you can break up your doses every two to three hours during a typical work day for example to get the additional boost of caffeine that you need with a lot of the B-vitamins included within that puff of caffeine as well. Hope this helps clear up any confusion within this article. I still would not get too involved with this product until the FDA studies it further. So stick to that old cup of 7-11 coffee until you are assured of the results it will give you in the long run. Again thanks for your feedback and checking in with me.

With Warm Regards

The guy who invented it isn't some idiot who wants to make a quick buck, he's a professor at Harvard. He obviously knows more about caffeine affecting the body than we do. Also comparing caffeine to ectasy is like comparing a smart car to a Ferrari. They are vastly different from each other

Hello Realist:

And thank your feedback in reference to the aeroshot article as well. I see that you have done your research about the inventor of Aeroshot and thats great. So being an Ivy League school graduate does certainly look good on your resume and this individual also most likely is very intelligent. However you very well know as I do, that you cannot please everyone on this planet and we are all entitled to our various opinions. You also have to remember that the FDA has the final word in the approval of this product which as you may also be aware of had been in the news quite a bit over the past few days. I personally think that this product would be very beneficial for those constantly on the go and from what I have researched so far also seem relatively safe. However I cannot really compare it to a starbucks expresso because I haven't tried aeroshot myself. Also have you ever driven a smart car, or Ferrari for that matter to make individual comparisons between those two cars? Again thank you for chiming in.

With Warm Regards,

I have never driven a smart car or a Ferrari; I was using the comparison to show that while caffeine and ectasy are both drugs, they are incredibly different from each other. I done think aero shot creates a new caffeine problem for youth. Caffeine is already largely abused by teens through energy drinks. These ARE marketed towards kids; they have sugary, fruity flavors and bright bold colored cans. Aero shot is largely marketed towards adults. It doesn't have any calories, and apparently has a bit of an off putting taste. If it were being marketed towards youth, they would have made it overly sweet and more appealing to kids. I do agree that people should be hesitant with the product until it has been further researched.
